What can I expect to happen in sessions?

The prospect of sessions might feel daunting, so here is an idea of what to expect:

  • Time to talk the problem through;

  • Agreeing on how best to support you achieve a helpful outcome;

  • Using effective resources;

  • Reviewing if sessions are giving you what you need;

  • As sessions conclude, we can complete a plan that will support you beyond sessions.

Where will sessions take place?

Sessions take place via telephone or online.

I am happy to use a video conferencing platform of your choice, though I suggest encrypted platforms that protect privacy.

You might like to consider the following suggestions for online therapy to run smoothly:

  • find a comfortable, private place where you will not be disturbed;

  • ensure you have a good phone signal or WIFI connection;

  • access to a deceive which has a clear camera and a good speaker/microphone, use headphones, if necessary;

  • check that your device is charged or is near a charger, if needed;

  • have comforts to hand, such as tissues or a drink;

  • set a reminder for sessions so as not to miss a session;

  • let me know of any other needs you may have to help sessions run smoothly.

How many sessions can I have?

The number of sessions will depend on your goal. With some people, as little as 1 has been effective Other people may find anything from 6 to 20 beneficial. There are recommendations for ideal session numbers, depending on what your problem is. However, ultimately, the aim is to help you find solutions to problems in the time you need.

What are your fees?

Online one to one sessions are £90. I ask this to be paid in advance of the appointment, by bank transfer or PayPal.

In order to provide fair access to therapy, I have a number of low-cost sessions available. Please contact me to discuss this.

You may also be able to access sessions with me through your workplace or insurance.

When do you offer appointments?

I can be flexible with appointment times.

I generally aim to keep the same day/time, if possible.

Sessions can be scheduled weekly or fortnightly.
